On monday we flew into Greensboro and stayed at the proximity hotel where we had an awesome meal. The next morning we drove the trailer over to VF Headquarters and scooped up some homemade ice cream from Poppin John's Ice Cream for all the emplyees at VT and Jeanswear.
After leaving Greensboro we made the 2 hour drive up to Blacksburg, VA to Virginia Tech. On Wednesday we had some solid backpack racing during the day outside of the University Bookstore then packed up and headed to dinner at Boudreaux's (http://www.boudreauxs.com). We met up with Logan and Kelly (our ambassadors at VT) for some solid cajun food, that included alligator nuggets, crawfish dip, crabcakes, jumbalaya, and gumbo ya ya. Of course we forgot to mention it was JanSport Western Wednesday so we all put on our fabulous western clothing to embarrass ourselves, lucky for Kelly she forgot to dress up (we'll embarrass her later):
After the fine dining experience at Boudreaux's we ventured over to VT Soulstice (http://www.vtsoulstice.com) practice, for the best singing we've heard on the JanSport tailgate tour. The video below doesn't do justice (also watch for the Kelly Marron closeup at the end):
The ladies loved our western wear too and of course wanted to take a picture with the fine lookin JanSport cowboys:
The next day we had our JanSport tailgate part for the Va. Tech vs. Maryland, thursday night ESPN game. The bus in fact was featured on ESPN during the game at about 1:40 into the game on DVR. Here are some highlights from the game/tailgate:
While watching the Hokie bird to the the Hokie Pokey with the Maryland Terrapin (turtle). We heard this quote from two people in back of us, in the thickest southern draw:
"Boy, what in da world is that damn turtle doin on our field? He's dancing with our hokie bird. What has the world come to?"
No trip to Vt is complete without taking home some Hokie Stone.
