We're back on the road making our way down to South by Southwest in Austin, TX this weekend.
This blog over the next week is going to follow the same path as www.jansport.com/thedashingsuns
We're on a mini-tour with a band called "The Dashing Suns" from Oakland, CA. We'll be with them as they play shows leading up to SXSW.
Here's the schedule for the next week;
Tuesday: Leaving LA enroute to Phoenix (Show tonight at Ruby Room in Phoenix)
Wednesday: Leave Phoenix going to Albuquerque NM (Show at The Agency).
Thursday: Leave Truth or Consequences NM enroute to Austin TX.
Friday:JanSport and Under the Radar Magazine party at Flamingo Cantina (SXSW)
Saturday: JanSport and ReadyMade magazine party at Halycon Lounge (SXSW)
Sunday: Day party at Tyler's on the Drag w/ in store performance from the Dashing Suns
As always here we'll be providing you the most up to date information on our travels with the band. For show reviews and video reference the Dashing Suns blog.
We left Los Angeles this morning after getting stuck in a Saint Pattys day parade and started heading east along I-10 to Phoenix. We stopped for lunch at the fabulous Casino Morongo outside Palm Springs CA.The all you can eat buffet was too tempting to pass up of course we had to seize the day.after lunch we headed back on the road to the valley of the sun.
Random Tidbits and thoughts from Tuesday:
-Laurie's head has been hurting pretty bad after she slipped and fell last night on her dome. From here on out we will refer to her as Humpty Dumpty.
-What is Joshua Tree really all about?
- Mike our faithful tour driver gets his hair cut once a year, but it always looks the same for some reason.
- Trail mix with M&M's in it tastes a lot more than delicious that trail mix without M&M's in it. Humpty Dumpty did not agree with Jason on this.
- Jason, Mike, and Humpty Dumpty all have blackberry curves but 3 different service providers.
- Was anyone else scared of Missy Elliot in the "Supa Dupa Fly" music video in 1997? Jason was.
Until next time faithful readers. Jason from JanSport is done mobile blogging from somewhere off I-10E.
See where we're headed next...
July 15-18 our newest Student Ambassadors will be arriving in SF. Stay tuned for more...
